Jesus said, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)
Hunger is a reality in Romania where 32.5 percent of the population is at risk of poverty and social exclusion. Nearly half of the rural Romani (Roma people group) experience hunger at least once per month and child hunger in Romania is disproportionally high according to the Global Hunger Index.
Recognizing this reality, our ministry focuses on the physical and spiritual hunger within the Roma villages with our bread and food bag ministries. Each time we plant a rural church, we build an oven on site to bake bread for delivery during our outreach efforts. Fresh bread is a staple for physical sustenance and sharing it with our neighbors provides the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ, the bread of life!
